Author Guidelines
Documents must be submitted electronically through the Open Journal System (OJS) at https://revistas.ibero.edu.co/index.php/arete/user/register, where the necessary submission information is located. Using this option allows you to track the status of the document throughout the editorial process.
To begin the editorial process, you must consider and attach the following files:
- Manuscript with sections according to article type.
- Cover letter and originality statement (see guide letter).
- No conflict of interest form (see guide form).
- Copyright assignment form (see guide form).
- Authors' form (see guide template).
- Document with relevant figures or images (if required).
- The proposed sections must be strictly followed according to the article type (originals, reviews, reflections, case studies). Authors will endeavor to ensure that the text does not contain any identifying clues or suggestions. The Materials and Methods section must specify the informed consent of the patients or their guardians, as well as authorization from the institution where the research is being conducted.
- Document files must be submitted in Word format and must contain an initial page containing only: Full title of the document, in Spanish and English, Name and surname of the author(s), Institutional affiliation of the authors and institutional endorsements of the research (institution, department, and city), Name, address, telephone number, and email address of the corresponding author, acknowledgement of any scholarships or financial support, if applicable. The text of the document will then appear on the page and include: Título/title of the work, resumen/abstract and palabras clave/keywords, references, tables, legends, and figure captions.
- Texts should be written in an impersonal, third-person, or infinitive form. Avoid using specific adjectives or pronouns that refer to gender. Assumptions derived from gender stereotypes about people, their abilities, attitudes, and relationships should also be avoided.
- The use of abbreviations in the title and abstract of the work should be avoided. The first time an abbreviation appears in the text, it must be preceded by the full term to which it refers. Data figures must be editable; drawings, photographs, and algorithms must be in JPG format; these will be attached as separate files.
- You must attach an image that represents the essence of your document and the theme it represents. This image, preferably photographic, must be 1920 x 1080 pixels in size and in JPG format. Areté Magazine reserves the right to use or not use this image based on compliance with ethical and aesthetic criteria; its modification or change will be decided upon.
- Bibliographic references must comply with APA Standards, not in plain text, but using a Word reference tool.
