Plagiarism Detection and Academic Originality
The Areté Journal carries out academic originality verification processes as part of its editorial evaluation through the use of specialized similarity analysis and plagiarism detection tools.
All manuscripts submitted for evaluation must be original, unpublished, and comply with the principles of scientific integrity and intellectual property. Authors are responsible for ensuring the proper use of citations, references, and other academic resources in accordance with the APA Standards, Seventh Edition, and the ethical standards of scientific publishing.
The journal may reject, suspend, or withdraw from the editorial process any manuscripts that present:
- Total or partial plagiarism.
- Self-plagiarism.
- Identification of manipulation, fabrication, or falsification of information.
- Inappropriate use of sources or references.
- Any other practice that compromises the scientific integrity of the manuscript
Use of Artificial Intelligence
The Areté Journal recognizes the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools as support for linguistic review processes, grammatical correction, translation, or improvement of academic writing.
When such tools have been used significantly during the preparation of the manuscript, authors must explicitly declare this in the cover letter or within the manuscript, specifying the tools used and the type of support provided.
Artificial intelligence tools may not be recognized as authors of manuscripts, and their use does not exempt authors from ethical, scientific, and academic responsibility for the content presented.
