In a changing world, in constant evolution, professions must be prepared to respond to these changes and be dynamic to keep pace with today's society, allowing for strengthening, consolidation and social recognition over time.
The speech therapy profession is not alien to the transformations that have occurred at different times, a situation that has implied changes and adjustments in the ways in which the object of study is approached and is projected into the future, since being a young profession, in Compared to other disciplines, it has a long way to go in the quest to consolidate itself as a profession that responds to the needs of the population and the country.
With the unexpected appearance of a new virus, SARS-COV-2, which results in the COVID-19 disease, humanity was profoundly transformed and, with it, the way of practicing the profession of Speech Therapy, since passing From one-to-one contact to addressing the communication needs of individuals, families and communities through technological medication and with greater biosafety criteria, it became a challenge, since it implied adaptation and innovation to continue guaranteeing the provision of the professional services with quality and opportunity
