Abstract

Interactive competency is a crucial factor that enables the communication development in deafblind children, even more the intervinors role as the facilitator of this process. The Speech Pathologist has to provide the necessary tools so that the interactive processes can be established. This investigation presents the design of strategies to promote the interactive competency between deafblind children and their intervinors, studying their communication as a process, phenomenon and interpersonal system that involves intrapersonal, interpersonal and socio-cultural dimensions. In order to design and plan the strategies, it was necessary to go back to the analytical categories that were proposed in the initial investigation done for this study, with which we elaborated a matrix that contrasted the level of development against the variables of the interaction. The strategies were designed for children who are both genetically deafblind, according to the level two of Communicative development, also known as Intentional conduct. Based on this, four variables of interaction were determined: proxemia, exploration, social interaction and communicative interaction. The elaboration of these strategies allowed the coverage of the spectrum of interactive communication in relation to the interpersonal dimension of communication, internivor´s the intervinors role.
