Abstract

Patients with central auditory processing disorder often have trouble distinguishing the origin of the sound, identify the difference between them, distinguish between words that sound alike and sometimes ambient noise makes it more difficult for the subject to understand what people are trying to explain them. The objective of this study was to design and construct a battery to assess central auditory processing in adults applying for adjustment of hearing aids, as so far only has tools aimed at children and the only tool aimed at adults conducted only general assessment. From documentary method was carried out conceptual and operational definition of this construct, and as a result were eventually covered 5 specific skills: location of the sound, auditory discrimination, pattern recognition hearing, temporal aspects of hearing ability and performance Auditory acoustic signals competitive evaluated through sounds, words and sentences.
