Physiological Rehabilitation of the Voice: Water Resistance Therapy Review Article
Rehabilitación Fisiológica de la Voz: Terapia de Resistencia en el Agua
Main Article Content
Water resistance therapy is part of the group of
semiocluid vocal tract exercises that correspond to the
physiological tendency of vocal rehabilitation. Water
resistance therapy involve a constriction or artificial
lengthening of the vocal tract through straws (straws)
for commercial use or different devices such as Finnish
tube, Lax Vox, Doctor Vox, Mask Vox and Pocket Vox. The
acoustic, aerodynamic and biomechanical benefits of
resistance therapy in water are produced by the balance
obtained between phonation, resonance and respiration.
The main objective of resistance therapy in water
independently of the device and the method is to obtain
a maximum vocal economy through the development of
sensorimotor learning for the generation of a resonant
vocal pattern
