Twang: In Still Voice and in The Vocal Complete Tecnique
El twang: En el Estilo Vocal y en la Técnica Vocal Completa
Main Article Content
The characteristic brilliant vocal sound found in musical
genres as diverse as musical theater, R & B, gospel, salsa,
country, pop and opera, will appear named in literature
according to the method or vocal school studied. The aim
of this article is to clarify the significance of this sound
between two methods of modern singing, Estill Voice
Training, exposed by Jo Estill and the Complete Vocal
Tecnique, exposed by Cathrine Sadolin. Twang in the
Estill Voice is referenced as a vocal tract configuration
that has as main components a narrow epilaryngeal
tube, the larynx in a high position, the soft palate in
a high position and a light register, in the Complete
Vocal Tecnique (CVT) this term it is used to describe the
narrowing of the epilaryngeal tube. Is Twang a vocal
tract configuration? Or is it just the modification of the
width of the epilaryngeal tube?
