Guidelines for Authors

 

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform of Areté Journal, where authors may track the editorial process.

To initiate the evaluation process, authors must attach the following documents:

- Anonymized manuscript according to the article type.


- Cover letter and originality statement.


- Conflict of interest disclosure form.


- Copyright transfer form.


- Authors’ information form.


- Figures or images in separate files, when applicable.

 

Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish or English and must be original and unpublished.

The main file must be submitted in Word format and include:

- Manuscript title in Spanish and English.


- Abstract and resumen.


- Keywords and palabras clave.


- Full manuscript text.


- References.


- Tables and figures with their corresponding titles and captions.

Authors must omit any information that may reveal their identity within the manuscript, ensuring the double-blind peer review process.

References must be prepared according to APA Style, seventh edition.

Tables and Figures

Tables, figures, graphs, images, and other visual resources must be presented clearly, appropriately, and consistently with the manuscript content.

Tables and figures must:

- Be numbered consecutively according to their order of appearance in the text.


- Include a descriptive title and, when applicable, the source of information.


- Be explicitly cited within the manuscript.


- Follow APA Style, seventh edition.

 


- Tables must be submitted in editable format and not as images.

 


Figures, graphs, photographs, and illustrations must be submitted as separate files in JPG or PNG format, with adequate resolution and quality for publication.


When images are not the authors’ original work, authors must obtain the corresponding permissions and properly acknowledge the original source.The journal may request technical or editorial adjustments to tables and figures when necessary to ensure publication quality.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors must verify that the manuscript complies with the following requirements before submission:

- The manuscript is original, unpublished, and is not under consideration by another journal simultaneously.


- The main file is submitted in Word format or another compatible editable format.


- The manuscript includes the title in Spanish and English.


- The title is clear, precise, and does not exceed 12 words.


- The abstract and resumen are written in prose, without subtitles, and range between 150 and 250 words.


- The manuscript includes between 4 and 8 keywords in Spanish and English.


- Tables and figures are provided in editable format or as separate files with adequate quality for publication.


- References are prepared according to APA Style, seventh edition.


- The manuscript has been anonymized to guarantee the double-blind peer review process.


All supplementary documents required by the journal are attached:
