The purpose of the present work is to socialize the results of the study called Characterization of the professional role of the language therapist from Corporacion Universitaria Iberoamericana.
First of all, conceptions seen the fundamentals of the present research are described. Secondly, the role of language therapy as a profession is discussed, related to as a human service profession and the possible categories useful to identify it and also for its research activity. Finally methodological aspects of the study are described and a summary of the main findings is presented.
