Swallowing is a biological function, and coordinated complex can be assessed by two tests, the subjective assessment (Functional Assessment of Swallowing) and objective (Payne Technique). The objective of this study was to establish the correlation between the Functional Assessment of Swallowing (EFUD) and Payne technique in young adults (20 to 30 years) of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cauca. We performed a quantitative study of cross-cutting agreement, with a sample of 218 students. As main results, we found a significant concordance between the tests referred to a good degree of agreement and high sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, indicating that the results were reliable.
