Revista Areté (ISSN 1657-2513; e-ISSN 2463-2252) is an interdisciplinary scientific publication, aimed at the publication of knowledge related to research in the processes of human communication, their disorders and superior aerodigestive functions, in various settings and populations.

Revista Areté is a semi-annual publication with two issues published every year in response to the interest of the academic community in order to take on new challenges that help strengthening speech language therapy.

It is aimed at professionals, teachers and researchers at a national and international level interested in subjects related to human communication, its disorders, and related areas.

The documents submitted to be published in our journal must be unpublished and those that have been fully or partially published or that are in the process of being published in other journals are not admitted. Authors may submit their articles in any of the four sections: Originals, Reflection, Review and Case Studies.  The articles are evaluated by the journal’s editorial committee in order to decide if they meet the minimum requirements of form and content. After that, they are subjected to the process of peer review by external reviewers who are members of the Scientific Committee of the Journal. All articles are subjected to double-blind review by peers who specialize in the area of work that the article addresses.

In the review process, the names of the authors and reviewers are kept confidential, in accordance with the guidelines of the double-blind system. The decision to accept, review or reject articles is made by the Editorial Team, based on the reports of the external evaluators and their assessment. The final opinion will be communicated to the author after submission through the platform.

The journal is open access, there is no cost for submitting manuscripts, nor for subsequent publication. It also has no cost for reading users. Our interest is to provide a medium to socialize the advances in the disciplines related to human communication.
